The designer is a creator of items of the future. If he designs in metal, he or she will one day want to see it in real life. Wooden or plastic models painted metallic offer one solution of course, but they are rarely pretty and never allow functional testing. Casting the prototype in metal is almost always best for parts with curved planes, undercuts, free forms and combined geometrical shapes.
Starting with a rapid-prototyping or handmade model, ProtoMetals can make a metal part in a short time. This allows the designer to obtain the clearest impression of his design. Exclusive small series can be also naturally made this way. There are few design restrictions though current maximum dimensions are approximately 20x20x40 centimeters.
